Filmed in Versailles, a town below New Orleans that is home to one of the largest Vietnamese American communities in the United States, this documentary tells the powerful story of an overlooked minority cross-section of Louisiana that saw their homes and jobs lost in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Forced to virtually rebuild their community from the ground up, these tenacious Vietnamese Americans struggle against state bureaucracy and local economic forces to try and preserve the cultural framework they created upon immigrating to the United States. In capturing snippets of the lives of the elderly and younger generation alike, this film offers a touching and comprehensive look into a community determined to march on amid one of the nation’s largest catastrophes.
