Happy New Year everyone!

We have an exciting year planned for you in 2011! Last year we were thrilled to announce our partnership with Sulu DC.

Named after Sulu of Star Trek (the first Asian American character in space) and a remote island in the Philippines, Sulu DC is an underground, grassroots network and home for AAPI artists.

DC APA Film is a co-sponsor of Sulu DC’s first show of the year on January 15. Held at the exciting Artisphere in Rosslyn, Virginia, the show will showcase the short films of filmmaker Steve Mallorca. Read the rest of this entry »


Sulu DC’s One Year Anniversary Show on Nov. 20!

Our Community Partner Sulu DC will be celebrating their birthday on November 20 and it’s gonna be a super fun night! Here are the details regarding their anniversary show:

Join Sulu DC in celebrating their one year anniversary with a special show, presented by Sol y Soul and Sulu DC, under Artisphere’s Dome Theater—a brand new and innovative arts space with eco-friendly construction and building features. Locally and nationally renowned Asian American/Pacific Islander performerance artists will ignite the stage.

Hosted by Regie Cabico with music by DJ The Pinstriped Rebel, featuring Beau Sia, the Anniversary Show will pay tribute to leaders who have significantly contributed to the local and regional AAPI arts community and celebrate Sulu DC’s accomplishments. Enjoy a drink and delicious food compliments of Cafe Green, Nirvana Express, Almaz and Teaism while connecting with local AAPI artists during the pre-show reception. Read the rest of this entry »
