Neda Ulaby on NPR’s Morning Edition featured the DC APA Film Festival (and our priceless staff member Christian) on a piece about our fiscal sponsor organization, Fractured Atlas. Using Fractured Atlas allows artists and arts projects to solicit and retain funds without having independent federal tax-exempt status (501(c)3). Many small arts organizations use this business model because it allows them to receive oversight and structure so they can focus on developing their programs without being weighed down by some of the administrative burdens that come with maintaing a business or nonprofit. We have found Fractured Atlas particularly helpful in assisting us when applying for grants, receive discounts and referrals for things like insurance and products, and provide general knowledge about running a successful organization. Listen to the piece here.
