The H Street Corridor in Northeast Washington D.C. continues to expand as new businesses are setting up shop in the past few months. Biergarten Haus, which has an incredibly charming beer garden in addition to authentic German food and beer, opened next to mainstay Rock & Roll Hotel in early June.
One establishment that yours truly is looking forward to is Toki Underground which will open in the fall. Toki Underground is located above the very chill bar The Pug on 1234 H Street NE.
The Toki Underground crew was at the H Street Festival last Saturday mingling with the crowd. Josh, one of the partners, was selling brews while head chef Erik was handing out samples of a delectable pig that he roasted. It was a huge hit that Erik says he may consider adding it to the menu.
Speaking of the menu, Toki Underground will specialize in ramen noodles. Ramen noodle shops are the craze in Japan right now but soon they will be huge in the Atlas District. The ramen noodle dishes that you’ll soon be enjoying are Erik’s family recipes.
If you want to sample some of Erik’s cooking, come to our Closing Night party on September 17. Toki Underground will be there. For updates on when this restaurant will open, check back with our site or sign up on their website for updates: http://tokiunderground.com/
