DC APA Film and Scion Present the 2008 DC APA Film Festival Trailer Contest

We're quite busy preparing for the upcoming 9th Annual DC APA Film Festival, but we still need a promotional trailer! If you have access to a camera and think you can get down and creative for us, make a thirty second trailer and send it in. If the jury likes it, you're a finalist. If the public loves it, you're a grand prize winner. To make it worth your while, we're giving away cash prizes and screen time for the winning trailer during the festival. P.O.V. Youth Filmmaker Workshop 2008

Asian Pacific American Film (APA Film) announces the 2nd year of the P.O.V. Workshop, a youth filmmaking training program designed to empower and provide a voice to local Asian Pacific American youth by teaching them the art of moviemaking. The P.O.V. Youth Filmmaker Workshop program consists of a series of workshops taking place over the course of six consecutive weekends, during which participants will learn the necessary skills and steps to create a short film from conception to completion. Looking for Films about the Korean American Diaspora
Project Sunlight 2008 Short Film Contest is an incubation project for filmmakers of all levels to shed light on the untold stories of the Korean American Diaspora. It is an invaluable opportunity for you to advance your film career to the next level, gain recognition and receive national exposure in the filmmaking industry.
Who are we?
Project Sunlight was initiated by the USC Asian Pacific Leadership's NetKAL program (www.netkal.org).

The Network of Korean American Leaders (NetKAL) Fellowship Program promotes community leadership among successful second generation Korean-Americans. With the assistance of some of USC's leading educators, the NetKAL program provides fellows the networks and resources to communicate effectively, build coalitions and lead transformation at all levels of American society.
What are we looking for?
Online YouTube submissions of short films between 3-8 min in length.
The content of the short film must be focused on Korean American or native Korean stories from an American perspective, however, you, as the filmmaker, can use any format of your choice including: a traditional three-stage story, a feature film trailer, or animation. Be creative!
The top three finalists will be selected by the Project Sunshine committee. A panel of industry professionals will determine the first, second, and third place awards.
