How to Buy Tickets
The 2009 Festival offers substantial discounts for advance purchases online or over the phone. We encourage all patrons to take advantage of these discounts by purchasing tickets early. Online/Phone sales for each day’s screenings will be available until approximately 2 hours before the first screening of that day. After Online/Phone sales end, tickets will still be available at the door, but Advance Purchase discounts will no longer apply.
In addition, we are offering a VIP ALL ACCESS PASS ($100) that provides priority access to all film screenings including Opening and Closing Night, Centerpiece and all other events. The total cost is a 55% discount from the box office price of each individual event. We also offer a 5-pack for 5 films for those who may not be able to see all our screenings, only available online. These packs can be used for any screening except Opening, Centerpiece or Closing Night and are a great buy. Other passes are available for those who love short films (Shorts Pass), Documentaries (Documentary Pass) and who would like to spend Sunday afternoon at the movies (Sunday Pass).
Tickets for our events can be purchased at the door with cash at all venues. No checks will be accepted. Credit card payments will be accepted online for all events (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) or at the door for Opening Night (9500 Liberty) or Centerpiece (Honokaa Boy) at Landmark’s E Street Cinemas. Cash only at the door for all other venues.
All sales are final. If you purchase tickets in advance, please be sure to pick them up at WILL CALL at least 10 minutes before the screening or they may be released to the Rush Line if the screening is sold out.
Discounts
The festival offers substantial discounts for advance purchase tickets for all screenings. In addition, at the box office there are discounts available for Students, Military and for Seniors 65 or older. Please bring a valid current Student or Military ID to receive the discount. Seniors, please bring proof of age such as a driver’s license. These discounts are only available at the door. There are no discounts at the Door for Opening, Centerpiece or Closing Night. Only advance purchase tickets for Opening, Centerpiece or Closing receive a discount.
There is also a discount for Group Purchases of five or more tickets, only available online or via phone. Only the individual who purchased the tickets may pick them up at WILL CALL unless each individual’s name is specified during the order.
Passes
Online Tickets
Because tickets for many screenings will sell quickly, patrons are advised to purchase tickets as early as possible–and get a great discount. And the best way to ensure your seat is to purchase your tickets in advance via Brown Paper Tickets. Online ticket sales for all programs will end approximately 2 hours before the first screening of that day. There is a non-refundable fee for each ticket of 99 cents + 2.5% of the cost of the ticket charged by our ticket vendor. Check the festival schedule for a list of programs and their advance sale prices.
Phone Sales
Tickets for any of our paid screenings can be purchased over the phone through Brown Paper Tickets. Simply call 1-800-838-3006. When you speak to the ticket representative, tell them the name of the film program or mention “DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival” to choose from a number of programs. There is a non-refundable fee for each ticket of 99 cents + 2.5% of the cost of the ticket charged by our ticket vendor.
Door Sales
For all of our paid programs, patrons may purchase tickets at the theater before the screening. Please note that the ticket prices for door sales will be higher than advance online tickets. We suggest that you arrive early to purchase tickets at the door. Cash only, please – no checks or credit cards.
Rush Tickets
Sold Out? Join the rush line! Even for “sold out” films, we can often accommodate most patrons just before showtime. Rush tickets are sold beginning fifteen minutes before showtime, outside the theater lobby. (Be aware that a line sometimes forms earlier than this.) Cash only, please – no checks or credit cards.
Free Programs
In addition to our paid programs, we offer several programs that are entirely FREE to the public. Tickets for Freer and Sackler Gallery screenings are distributed beginning one hour before start time.
