DC APA Film fans: Did you get to sample Erik Bruner-Yang’s delectable Pho Dogs at our Closing Night party in October? Perhaps you sampled his roasted pig during this year’s H Street Festival? The talented and super-friendly chef will soon be opening his own restaurant, Toki Underground, located at 1234 H Street NE (above the Atlas District’s neighborhood pub The Pug).
What exactly is Toki Underground? Toki Underground, a sponsor of the 2010 DC APA Film Festival, will be a restaurant that specializes in ramen noodles. You bet they’re gonna be yummy because they’re Erik’s family recipes. Bruner-Yang has been a star chef in the area and people have raved about his cooking, especially his dumplings. We’re excited about the opening of his restaurant!
Before the restaurant opens, Bruner-Yang and his crew will be hosting a fundraiser on Sunday at the U Street Music Hall. Bring in your old ramen and trade it in for coupons for Toki Underground’s fresh ramen to benefit the Toki Underground winter soup kitchen.
When: Sunday, November 14 at 9 p.m.
Where: U Street Music Hall, 1115 U St NW, look for the canopy halfway between 11th & 12th Street

The Redskins aren’t playing on Sunday so come on down! It’s going to be a fun night! If you can’t wait until Sunday, Toki Underground is co-presenting Asia Club at the Black Cat on Friday.
