Upcoming Films and Festivals in D.C.

Tibetan Buddhism: Films From Around the World: Roots of Infinity

One of the great things about D.C. is that there are always interesting things going on. Here are some upcoming film happenings:

D.C.’s Asia Society is presenting the Taiwan Documentary Series. If you missed The Pigeon Game and Butterfly Code on March 18, be sure to see Spirit Talk and Super Pigs on Thursday, March 25. All movies are free! For more information, visit the Asia Society website.

In conjunction with the International Buddhist Film Festival and In the Realm of the Buddha exhibit at the Sackler Gallery, the Tibetan Buddhism: Films from Around the World series is being presented through March 28. Films are shown for free on a first come, first serve basis at the Freer Gallery’s Meyer Auditorium. Click here for more information.

The Annual Korean Film Festival is back in D.C. and will run from April 6 to May 18. This year’s festival features a selection of over 10 new films and a retrospective of independent filmmaker Jeon Soo-il, with an appearance by the director on April 17. Also, don’t forget our early deadline for film submission is April 10. Films submitted early receive a discounted submission fee and earlier consideration for our  October 7-16, 2010 program.
