Kuang Lee

Kuang Lee was born in Taipei, Taiwan and raised in southern California. He has a BA in English Literature from UCLA and an MFA in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University. While in film school, Kuang wrote and directed two short films that toured the international film-festival circuit. HEROES is a wry satire about an elderly cartoonist who believes that he has superhuman powers. HAE LU is a melancholic ghost story based on Chinese mythology.

Kuang's most recent film, EASTSIDE, is a 30-minute documentary on the phenomenon of skateboarding in Asia. Filmed on 16-millimeter and shot on location in China, EASTSIDE can now be seen in film festivals throughout the country, including The Los Angeles Film Festival, Los Angeles Visual Communications Film Festival, Silverlake Film Festival, and the Hawaii International Film Festival. Terra Entertainment will release EASTSIDE on DVD/Home Video in Summer 2003.

Kuang's current project is "Language Lessons," a feature-length love story set in Taipei, Taiwan.
